1. Scope
These Terms govern your use of Hokkaido Backcountry ("the App"). By using the App you agree to these Terms.
2. Purpose and disclaimer (important)
- The App is a reference tool providing map display, peak search, and safety information for backcountry travel in Hokkaido.
- Backcountry travel carries serious risks including avalanches, falls, and hypothermia. Your safety is your own responsibility. The App’s information does not replace training, current weather/avalanche information, or on-site judgment.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of maps, peaks, routes, or notes shown.
- To the extent permitted by law, the provider is not liable for any damages arising from use or inability to use the App.
3. Location and map data
- Maps are displayed from GSI "GSI Tiles" with attribution. We do not sell the map data itself.
- Location is used to show your current position (see the Privacy Policy).
4. Purchases (Pro features / paid content)
- Some features (Pro unlock, paid routes/GPX) are sold through the App Store / Google Play.
- Purchases follow each store’s terms. Refunds follow each store’s policy.
- Paid GPX is delivered from the server after entitlement verification; unauthorized use or redistribution is prohibited.
5. Prohibited conduct
- Illegal use, reverse engineering, obtaining/redistributing content without entitlement, or interfering with the App’s operation.
6. Intellectual property
- Rights in the App and its content (curated peaks, routes, etc.) belong to the provider or rightful owners. Map tile rights belong to GSI.
7. Changes
- We may revise these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Sapporo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction of the first instance over any dispute.
